Cambio climático y transición energética is a complete seven page C1 Spanish lesson exploring climate policy, renewable energy and the energy transition through advanced language work.

The lesson begins with interactive vocabulary practice through Quizlet, followed by reading comprehension based on extracts from Spain’s Ley 7/2021, de cambio climático y transición energética. Students work with authentic institutional language while completing a ten statement Verdadero, Falso or No se menciona activity.

The listening section moves the focus to Argentina and the energy transition. Students listen to a presentation dealing with decarbonisation, international commitments, investment, energy security, technological development, regional integration and sustainable growth, and answer eight multiple choice questions.

The grammar section provides substantial practice with hypotheses using si, including possible present and future situations, unlikely or hypothetical situations, past conditions with consequences in the present, and past conditions with consequences in the past. Students work with the present indicative, imperfect subjunctive, pluperfect subjunctive and conditional forms before completing two sets of contextualised exercises.
