Description

A free 3 page A2 Spanish lesson combining reading, listening, grammar and oral production through the topic of the energy sector in Spain.

Students begin by listening to and reading a short accessible text about renewable energy and energy production in Spain. The text provides repeated examples of the pretérito indefinido in context, including vino, fue, dieron, produjo, ahorró, significó, evitó and ayudaron.

The grammar activity then asks students to complete the full pretérito indefinido conjugation of eight useful verbs: venir, ser, dar, producir, ahorrar, significar, evitar and ayudar. This gives students practice with both regular and irregular forms while recycling vocabulary from the reading.

The second part develops oral production and interpretation of visual information. Students use two graphics to describe energy production in Spain and compare information by region. The resource includes a specially designed 2025 wind energy map and a chart showing different types of energy production. The graphics are designed for Spanish language teaching rather than as official statistical data.

A complete conjugation table with all the answers is provided at the end, making the resource suitable for classroom teaching or independent study.

This resource is designed exclusively for Spanish language learning. The energy sector provides the context for practising vocabulary, grammar and speaking skills and is not intended to provide professional or technical information.
