Fusiones y adquisiciones is a free three page A2 Spanish resource designed to practise the Futuro Imperfecto and Condicional Simple through the professional context of mergers and acquisitions.
The first page provides a concise grammar reference covering the formation of both tenses with regular verbs, followed by the 12 irregular verbs shared by the Futuro Imperfecto and Condicional Simple. It also introduces their principal uses, including predictions, hypothetical situations and the conditional as future viewed from the past.
Students then practise vocabulary and listening through an audio activity about the future of mergers and acquisitions. They identify 21 verbs in the Futuro Imperfecto, recording the infinitive and grammatical person of each form.
A second controlled grammar activity gives students further practice forming the Futuro Imperfecto through predictions about companies, investment, acquisitions, technology, renewable energy and international expansion. The revised sentences are constructed specifically to elicit the future rather than the subjunctive.
Finally, students move from controlled practice to written production, preparing a report about the future of the company for which they work.
The final page contains the complete listening text with all 21 future forms identified, together with the answers to the grammar exercise.
