Description

A 5 page B1 Spanish lesson designed to develop practical Spanish through the topic of finance, investment and financial markets.

The lesson introduces 15 useful vocabulary items including acciones, divisas, materias primas, valor presente neto, tasa interna de retorno, fusiones y adquisiciones, emisión, ahorro, gestión de patrimonio and recaudar. Students first match the terms with their definitions and then use the vocabulary in context.

A further vocabulary activity develops relationships between nouns and verbs, including ahorro / ahorrar, emisión / emitir, valor / valuar, tasa / tasar, fusión / fusionarse, adquisición / adquirir, gestión / gestionar and recaudación / recaudar.

The grammar section practises the pretérito indefinido through ten sentences situated in financial and professional contexts. Students work with verbs such as ahorrar, encargarse, abordar, emitir, valuar, tasar, fusionarse, adquirir, gestionar and recaudar.

The lesson also includes audio and discussion work. Students explore a text about finance covering financial planning, investment, risk management, financial markets, corporate finance, personal finance and public finance, before using the vocabulary in six substantial debate questions.

Complete answers are included for the vocabulary and grammar activities.

The resource contains external links, including audio. Internet access is required.
