Description
Productos financieros is a complete B1 Spanish lesson designed to develop practical vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension and written production through the context of personal finance and investment.
Students begin with key financial vocabulary including patrimonio, rendimiento, plazo, tasa de interés, préstamo, cartera and riesgo. A matching activity introduces the terminology before a contextualised gap fill activity asks students to apply it to a short situation involving investment decisions and financial advice.
The grammar section focuses on two important past tenses, the pretérito indefinido and pretérito imperfecto. Students identify their use in context and complete conjugation tables with verbs taken from the lesson, including decidir, analizar, calcular, saber, deber, ofrecer, sentirse, ser and estar.
The reading and listening section introduces a range of financial products, including savings accounts, fixed term deposits, bonds, shares and mutual funds, while also exploring risk, profitability, liquidity, costs and investment periods. Students consolidate their understanding through ten true or false statements.
The final production activity introduces the imperative through financial advice. Students follow a clickable link to additional material and then write ten pieces of financial advice using the formal usted imperative.
The resource contains clickable online content, so an internet connection is required to access the linked material.
A complete answer key is included.
