Description
Refuerzo del sistema eléctrico tras el apagón is an 11 page C2 Spanish lesson designed for advanced learners who want to develop sophisticated Spanish through the professional context of energy, regulation and the electricity sector.
The lesson is built around an extensive Spanish text examining Real Decreto ley 7/2025, introduced following the widespread Spanish electricity blackout of 28 April 2025. Students work with advanced language relating to the security and resilience of the electricity system, regulatory supervision, energy storage, demand management, electrification and renewable energy.
The text introduces specialised vocabulary and concepts such as control de tensión, almacenamiento energético, redespacho, generación distribuida, autoconsumo, agregación independiente, electrificación, repotenciación, potencia instalada and entrada en vigor.
Students develop reading skills through activities requiring them to distinguish accurate summaries from misleading interpretations, complete vocabulary in context and identify meaning from sophisticated regulatory and technical language.
A dedicated grammar section practises structures characteristic of formal Spanish, including expressions of purpose, cause and consequence and constructions such as con el fin de, dada, por lo cual, con objeto de and con el propósito de.
Further activities develop lexical precision through synonyms and collocations such as propuesta normativa, plan de inspección, almacenamiento de energía, operador del sistema, supervisión del sistema and entrada en vigor.
The final sections test detailed comprehension and the ability to recognise equivalent meanings in sophisticated Spanish. Students must interpret regulatory information rather than simply locate individual words in the text.
A complete answer key is included for all seven exercises, making the resource suitable both for teacher led lessons and advanced independent study.
The resource also makes clear that Real Decreto ley 7/2025 subsequently ceased to have effect after it was not validated by the Congreso de los Diputados.
The material is provided exclusively for Spanish language learning and does not constitute legal, legislative or professional advice.
The PDF includes: 11 pages of advanced Spanish, specialised legal and energy vocabulary, an extended reading, vocabulary in context, advanced formal grammar, synonyms, professional collocations, detailed reading comprehension, reformulation and meaning recognition activities, and complete answers.
