Description
A 7 page A2 to B1 Spanish lesson designed to develop vocabulary, listening comprehension and grammar through the professional context of litigation.
The lesson begins with an accessible introduction to useful Spanish vocabulary connected with litigation, including demanda, ofrecer prueba, apelación, recurrir, interponer, juicio, juez, sentencia, testigo, audiencia and perito. Students then work actively with this vocabulary through a noun and verb table and contextualised gap fill activities.
Further controlled practice asks students to select and conjugate verbs such as dictar, revocar, testificar, ofrecer, apelar, interponer and convocar, allowing them to recycle the vocabulary while practising Spanish verb forms in context.
The lesson includes a substantial listening activity based on a fictional dispute between two neighbours. Students identify verbs in the pretérito indefinido, give their infinitives and subjects, and then answer ten comprehension questions about the development of the case.
The grammar section introduces the pretérito pluscuamperfecto, explaining its formation with haber in the imperfecto plus the participle, together with common irregular participles. Students see how the tense is used to describe an action or experience that occurred before another past event and then complete ten contextualised sentences.
The resource finishes with complete answers and the listening transcript, making it suitable for teacher led classes as well as independent study.
