Description
El principio de los actos propios is a complete B2 Legal Spanish lesson that develops vocabulary, reading, grammar and speaking skills through the context of the principle of actos propios.
The lesson begins with a legal scenario involving an initial offer of compensation, the expectation created by that conduct and a subsequent attempt to deny responsibility. Students then work with key vocabulary such as expectativa, deber jurÃdico, perjuicio, contradictorio and resarcir.
Further activities develop the language needed to explain the principle itself and practise logical connectors including sin embargo, porque and por eso. A multiple choice reading comprehension activity consolidates understanding of the text.
The grammar section focuses on the contrast between creo que + indicativo and no creo que + subjuntivo, with explanations, examples and transformation exercises. A full reference page on the present subjunctive is also included, covering regular verbs, vowel changes, spelling changes and important irregular forms.
The lesson then moves into communication and debate through four practical scenarios involving a language academy, a pharmaceutical company, a professional adviser and a university. Students use the target vocabulary and grammar to express and justify their opinions.
